With filming now underway on Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant, more and more details are slowly finding their way online.

The fansite AVP Galaxy recently made us aware of a giant Engineer head, similar to the one that was seem in the marketing for Prometheus, that was spotted on the set in Fox Studios Australia, where filming will soon be heading. I guess this means that we’ll be learning more about the mysterious ancient species that were presumably behind the creation of humankind and the Xenomorphs when Alien: Covenant hits screens on August 4, 2017.

The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Benjamin Rigby, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez.

Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded; but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the "synthetic" and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
