The classic is eternal. I often repeat this phrase. How wonderful that there's someone in cinema world who remember it too. And while superheroes on screen reproduce by elementary gemmation, one will make a stage version or another screen adaptation of Shakespeare anyway. “Macbeth” with Michael Fassbender is in theaters now.

As his costar is Marion Cotillard here, together they formed a strong pair, which could easily turn into a new tandem (the second time the actors will work together will be the film adaptation of computer game "Assassin's Creed").

Though this film could be recommended only to the fans of writer himself or actors involved. Just because not everyone is able to stand Shakespeare's syllable for about two hours. All and all, there ones who likes this classics. So if you’ve already been to the theater or even just going to (consciously, not according to the principle "what's in theaters now..."), then you'll be happy with what you'll see. Especially those, whose soul yearned for stage versions. The way of filming is somewhat reminding of stage play: a minimum of settings (the ones, I felt, easily changed immediately by the camera movement, right in the process). A special treat of creators can be felt in the slow-mo battle scenes – such a luxury only a movie can give you. That’s why Macbeth is a smart symbiosis theatre and cinema.

However, instead of the usual scene where the action unfolds, there was something here that's much more interesting – cold, unapproachable and rough nature of Scotland. It's been showed us like this. The main thing – the entire background is real, inspiring greatness. And it helps to understand: no matter how restrained the story is, but the mountains, the fog and mysterious grayness of surrounding nature constantly kept on alert and a strange feeling of fever pitch, that won’t be shown here in any other way– and rightly so. Here the mood can be felt though the fog only, who's like a ghost following Macbeth and giving us hints through the degree of its density and, of course, the colour. Bloody mist – the peak of both despair and greatness.

Two first class actors - Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard – not just created a great couple, they found a strange, but not everywhere applicable and very high-quality method for "Macbeth" – were somewhat restrained and played without much of a dramatics, giving the Shakespeare's adaptation even more reality, but not the staging, to which one the audience was ready due to the nature of the source.

The content itself is concisely and clearly packed to the slogan "Blood will have blood". Power first beckons, then overwhelms, blinds and leads into obsession and addiction. And the one already cannot get out of this. Blood that stained your hands once will call to the next blood spilling. There enemies and friends will be indistinguishable in intoxicated brain. Macbeth, once with a pure soul and a brave heart, has his own temper in the face of treacherous wife for whom all means are good in order to seize the Royal crown. And here we see it again – problems of this world so often comes of women...
