In Jo Nesbo books about Harry Hole restaurant Schroder plays an important role.
This morning at 6 over 100 filmmakers in St. Hanshaugen in Oslo filmed a scene for the film adaptation of 'The Snowman' inside the restaurant.
- Today we will be filming a very intense scene with a lot of dialogue, between Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson, so we put a lot more exercise in such scenes than we usually do, - says the film's publicist Sasha Gibson.

Filming started

A group of film crew is waiting outside Schroder, and a handful of viewers has lined up with cameras on the other side of the street for the restaurant.
Gibson says that the actors have been rehearsing since nine o'clock this morning.
And suddenly, Michael Fassbender, who plays Harry Hole appears on location.

Filming begins.

Shooting manager paving the street outside the restaurant for both people and other things that can be captured on camera. Then he yells:
- Rebecca, Rebecca!
Rebecca Ferguson, who plays police colleague Katrine Bratt, comes along and enters the restaurant.

150 on set

Production folks outside the restaurant stop and wait, it gets quiet before the scene is over and the film's prop master exits. She sits at a table outside the restaurant and light up a cigarette by lighting it to one from the film's protagonist, the big smoking Harry Hole.

- This is very different from the set of any Norwegian film. Everything is very much bigger and take up more space. Overall, there are about 150 pieces of sets, - tells Wasa Bynjulv, freelance film worker and Norwegian responsible for the filming of 'The Snowman'.
Buses stop right outside Schroder.
- However, for the occasion this bus stop has been moved two hundred meters down the street, - telling Wasa.

Satisfied restaurant owner

Khalid Abdul, owner and general manager at Schroder, stands and follows the entire filming process from the curb. He is pleased that the international blockbuster is using the actual Harry Hole’s much loved restaurant as the location.
- It is very good for both Schroder and Oslo that they're filming here. It's fun that the place become known worldwide, he says and smiles.
The restaurant will be closed all day, and both the back and corners of the restaurants are full of cameras and other devices.
- They have included an aquarium and sat behind the Harry Hole's table, otherwise, all of the interior as it usually is, says Abdul.
