Pal Morten is from Hverven driver Fiksern AS, a company that is a supplier of special effects for the film, television and theater. Visual Effects helps Snowman production primarily with snow, but also supply weapons and other effects and props. He can tell us about the making process that has posed new challenges.

- It's larger than any other production I've been in Norway. It has been fun and exciting to see from the inside how it is all organized.

Anne Pedersen has worked on a wide range of Norwegian films. In October she was called by the Norwegian production manager who checked availability and wondered if she would come for an interview with the English co-producer.

- A few weeks later, when it was decided who would be the costume designer, and after a conversation on phone with costume designer Julian Day, I was hired as Costume Supervisor. I started working in mid-November.

Pedersen says that the costume department on this production is structured in a different way than what we are used to in Norway.

- In cooperation with Costume Designer and Assistant Costume Designer, we have built up the department and I found the people for the various positions. There are a total of five British and six Norwegian full-time employees, but for long periods we have been hiring many more, up to seventeen at the most. There are several members on set every day who are attached to lead roles and the ones who are just working with extras. From England, we have a large “costume wagons”, which is the base for all roles’ costumes during the filming. This is an independent entity that is run by the English staff and a Norwegian costume designer. The wagons have all the stuff including washing machine and so on. All costumes are needed all the time and you do not move away as we always have so much of the Norwegian productions. This is something we have asked for and really want for us in Norway, although we of course had been satisfied with a much smaller than we now have here. We also have a dedicated coordinator in the department, which is responsible for updating the budget, orders, submission of settlements and more.
