These days Rjukan is ready for invasion - the Jo Nesbo's book "The Snowman" will turn into a film, with Michael Fassbender in the lead role.

The book about 'The Snowman' is the seventh in Harry Hole's storyline. With a film crew of around 200 people these days Rjukan will become the part of the film will, some scenes will be be shot in Tinn municipality. Other filming locations in Norway are Oslo and Bergen. So this is a great opportunity for small Rjukan.

The secrecy is surrounding the filming process. To illustrate that something is happening in our valley, a giant snowman has been built on Rjukan's squaire.

Our Saheim Powerstation has also come up with Rjukans to answer to a famous Hollywood sign with illuminated letters of a "Snowman" word.

Competition on instagram

@Visitrjukan has a competition going on Instagram where we encourage everyone to build their own snowman, make a shot and tag it #vinterrjukan. One of the entries will be awarded.
