Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has responded to the "Steve Jobs" trailer in which Seth Rogen plays him, and his response isn't as negative as some might expect.

"I don't talk that way," Wozniak said in an email to Bloomberg. "The lines I heard spoken were not things I would say but carried the right message, at least partly," he said. "I felt a lot of the real Jobs in the trailer, although a bit exaggerated."

Wozniak is referring to the scene in the trailer in which the Wozniak character tells Jobs, played by Michael Fassbender, that he has taken credit for Apple Inc. without actually doing much.

"What do you do? You're not an engineer. You're not a designer. You can't put a hammer to a nail. I built the circuit board. The graphical interface was stolen. So how come, 10 times in a day, I read Steve Jobs is a genius. What do you do?"

Wozniak added, "I would never accuse the graphical interface of being stolen. I never made comments to the effect that I had credit taken from me."

His response also revealed that he consulted with Aaron Sorkin before the script had been written, and that he and Rogen had dinner together.

The Universal film is directed by Danny Boyle. Kate Winslet and Jeff Daniels also star.

"Steve Jobs" bows October 9.
