Q: There’s a line that I love in the movie that “You’re always sorry and there’s always a speech” – can you talk a little bit about your work with Simon, because… such moments for me – they’re just awesome…

M: Fans love such things, to have some tongue and chip moments within something that’s dealing with quite serious topic matter, it’s always important – it lets audience to relax and get a laugh out and re-engage. Working with Simon – have been knowing him for nine years now - since we came on the x-men saga he was always there from the beginning, he was writer and producer, so it was really cool and exciting for him to be director for the first time! I was wondering: wow, how he gonna do this, and he just took it like a duck to water – he was so relaxed on set. Always has a very clear idea of the tone and of how he want to present this. It was very important for him to return to dark phoenix story because he felt like even if The Last Stand was supposed to be about her, it was more about the men around her and we have this Sophie-centered piece here, and it’s her story and rightly so. It was really cool to have that arc with him, to have this full circle of him directing “what could be our last installment”…

Q: I have a bunch of twitter questions from people, so I’m in a jump because I have soo many minutes…

M: Don’t fire…

Q: Do you have a favorite Michael performance and you have a favorite McAvoy performance?

J: Hunger and Shame, Shame and Hunger… and Twelve Years a Slave, man, you’re just good, you’re really good!

M: Oh, thanks!

J: You’re always really good! Those movies survived on the acting, if you know what I mean… that’s not fair, actually, because he’s amazing director as well, but I bet on why those movies work - it’s you…

M: first time when I noticed James when we’ve been working on Band of Brothers and I just loved his confidence…

J: It’s my greatest performance…

M: No…

J: It’s my first…

M: No, there was a lot of guys running around in green

J: Yeah…

M: And you stood out, and you only had one episode… And I always remembered that, and then “Shameless”, and I was like “Wow, this guys is really good”, and then “Atonement”, and I think “Split” was a really good for you. You got your rocks off, and did all those personalities! Get your act on! So, yeah, it was always something “That guy!”, it was something from the very beginning when I saw him in Band of Brothers.

Q: Do you, guys, have some sort of pre-shooting ritual? Like you do something before someone says “Action!”

J: I used to…

M: “I have a secret…”

J: “I have a secret”, “I’m beautiful”, I’m talented”…

M: “I’m angry” “I’m mutant” “I have a secret”…

J: We actually did use the “secret”, it was fun…

M: Depends on the thing, I suppose….

J: Depends on the thing, yeah, I, for a little while, for a couple of years – tried to make myself as tensed as possible before the take and then just relax, and it just makes you feel really relaxed, but I stopped doing it because it’s just fucking stupid, and I don’t need to do it…

Q: What movie you watched most?

M: Big Lebowski.

J: Top Gun. I probably watched Top Gun every day of summer holidays when I was 12-13 with my mate Marc, that and The Goonies, we watched it every day of the summer holidays, we altered between the two.

M: if we’re going that far back that probably would be Fletch, but Big Lebowski is more recent…
